Stop Outsourcing Your Power: The Importance of Following Your Authority in the Age of AI

I don’t know about you, but at the moment it feels like my Instagram feed is filled with doomsday messages and forewarnings around AI and the potential dystopian future that lies ahead. The one that hit me hard was Steven Bartlett’s interview with Mo Gawdat on The Diary of a CEO podcast, which warned everyone of the ‘hell’ that we are about to enter over the next 15 years.

And it’s left me pondering what the secret sauce is to navigating these unprecedented times with as much ease, confidence and clarity as possible. And of course, the answer that came to me is simple: we must stop outsourcing our power.

We’re living in a time where many of us have access to an abundance of intelligence, insight, and innovation at our fingertips. With AI tools able to write, respond, and even “think” for us, it’s easier than ever to let technology take the wheel. But in the rush to automate and optimize, we risk outsourcing the most valuable asset we have - our own personal power.

I think the most important thing you can do in these unprecedented times is remember that you are the authority of your life. Your values, instincts, emotions, and inner knowing are not something an algorithm can replicate. AI is clearly here to stay and only going to become more integrated into our lives, so how can we make sure we use it to our advantage, to create more ease and freedom in our lives? I don’t believe the danger is in using AI, but I believe it’s in forgetting who’s in charge.

In Human Design, your Authority is your inner compass that helps you navigate decisions. It's not based on logic or opinion, it's based on your own personal intuitive wisdom. Whether it's emotional clarity, your gut response, or splenic intuition, your authority is like your very own personal decision-making GPS.

Yet many of us have been conditioned to ignore it. We ask others what they think. We consult experts. We defer to systems. We look for certainty outside ourselves, not realizing that we’re handing over our sovereignty in the process.

AI is just the latest layer of that conditioning - dressed up in convenience. It’s often much quicker and ‘easier’ to ask ChatGPT for the answer than to dig deep into the wisdom of our own soul and trust that we know what’s best for us.

Let’s be clear - AI can be incredible. But it’s a tool, not a truth.

True authority is not loud, forceful, or reliant on credentials. It’s the quiet confidence of knowing yourself. It’s making decisions that feel right even when they don’t make sense to others. It’s saying no to what everyone else is saying yes to and trusting that your divine inner compass is wiser than any algorithm will ever be.

In a world full of data, trust your energy.
In a world full of opinion, trust your intuition.
In a world full of AI, trust your authority.

I truly believe it’s the secret sauce to navigating this new paradigm that we are entering with as much ease and grace as humanly possible.

The future belongs to the self-led⚡
