Lessons From The Universe: #3: what if your desires aren’t actually yours?

This week, I have been trying to get really clear on what it is that I actually want. What I truly, authentically want on a soul-level in all areas of my life. Often we think that we want things, but when we reallyyyy dig into it, these desires are actually coming from a place of ego.

A mentor once said to me - “If you would still want it even if no one could see it, it’s probably an authentic desire.”

And this stuck with me.

I think this is such a good statement to pressure test whether what we want is actually coming from a place of authenticity. As many of us experience, society has a way of prescribing what we should want - what we should have to feel loved, and what we must achieve to be seen as valuable.

So many of us aspire to have the dream house, the luxury car, the extortionately-priced handbag, the baller CEO role, but would we still crave those things if no one ever saw us with them? What if we couldn’t post about it, share it, be known for it, or be admired for it? Then would we still care to have it? Or would we choose something entirely different? This is what got my head in a real spin this week.

I believe it’s so important to have clear goals and clarity and intention over where we want to take our lives, but I think so much of the time, we are trying to manifest things that are coming from an inauthentic place, which only drives us further down a road of misalignment.

This is why I love Human Design so much, because it shows you who you truly are underneath your conditioning. It helps you to distinguish your true purpose, your real wants and desires vs what is coming from a place of conditioning.

If you're seeking deeper insight into who you truly are at your authentic core, and what your soul came to do in this lifetime, I offer a range of Human Design readings to really help you on the road to alignment and to support you in living a life that brings genuine fulfilment, freedom and joy ✨
