Bio-Individuality and Human Design: Why Generic Health Advice Is Failing You

Most of us think we take pretty good care of our health. We exercise. We eat the right things most of the time. We take our supplements, try to meditate, and aim for eight hours of sleep.

And yet, so many of us still don't feel like we're truly thriving.

I used to think that meant I wasn't trying hard enough. For years, I ate kale, lentils, beans, big salads, most days, because that's what "healthy" looked like. And I still felt sluggish. Bloated. And suffered with the worst digestion.

I did what most of us do. I assumed I was the problem.

The Conditioning Nobody Talks About

Here's what I didn't understand at the time. According to the founder of Human Design, food is one of the biggest ways we get conditioned, starting from the moment we're small.

Not just which foods are labelled "good" or "bad." The entire way we're taught to eat. How fast. Hot or cold. Alone or with people. On a schedule, or only when we're actually hungry.

As children, most of us ate on instinct. We loved certain foods, refused others, and ate in ways that felt natural, without needing to be told how. Slowly, that instinct got trained out of us. In its place, we were handed a set of rules: generic, one-size-fits-all rules, built for an average body that doesn't actually exist.

The real question was never "what's healthy?" It's which of our habits are genuinely ours, and which ones are just conditioning dressed up as fact.

There's No Such Thing as an "Average" Body

Mainstream health advice still treats every body as identical. The same food pyramid. The same five habits. The same generic guidance, handed to everyone regardless of how differently we're actually built.

This isn't a fringe idea. Precision medicine and functional health are already moving in this exact direction: the growing understanding that bio-individuality, the recognition that no two bodies should be given identical advice, is where health is genuinely heading. One-size-fits-all health advice won't survive that shift.

Human Design offers one of the clearest lenses into that individuality that exists.

The Layer Most People Never Get Shown

Most Human Design work stops at personality: Strategy, Authority, decision-making, how you're energetically built to move through life. Hugely useful, but not the full picture.

There's a deeper layer of the chart that most people never get shown. It reveals how you're actually designed to eat, live, and move, and how every centre and gate in your chart links directly to your energy, your vitality, and your physical wellbeing.

It's a second map, hiding underneath the one you already know.

A New Way to Read It: Body by Design

This is exactly the layer I take people through in Body by Design, a 60-minute session where we decode how you're specifically built to eat, live, and optimise your health, so you can finally tell the difference between your body's real intuition and years of conditioning dressed up as "healthy."

This session is best suited to those who've already had a foundational Human Design reading and want to go deeper into this layer specifically, whether something's actively bothering you, or you're simply functioning fine and want to know what genuinely optimised looks like for your unique design.
